I would like to make a proposal that I believe would save the North Dakota Board of Higher Education a lot of time and the taxpayers of North Dakota a lot of money.
Considering the University of North Dakota needs a new president and athletic director and is now transitioning to Division I, it would seem to make sense that the two major universities be combined with the idea of having a north and south campus. Make Joe Chapman president and Gene Taylor athletic director (both proven performers) and pay them what they deserve. Build one president's house instead of two.
Skip the transition for the north campus since it has already been done down south. Keep the hockey team up north and the football team down south. Oh, and change the mascot to the Fighting Bison and save some more time and money.
