It's time for the Fargo City Commission to place an anti-smoking ordinance for bars into effect.
Minnesota has shown courage to ban all smoking in public. Fargo can now do the same. West Fargo will be guided by our example. If West Fargo lawmakers wish to subject their citizens to cigarette smoke in bars there will be an election to be reckoned with. Can't recall the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights promising the privilege of smoking in public.
While on the subject of city and county commissioners, it's time to prevent injury to convenience store clerks working alone on late night duty in the most dangerous job in the world. Stop this problem by passing a law originating in Gainesville, Fla. Close or provide two people on duty. Save lives. I'd hate to see someone lose a life when it can be easily prevented.
