I am in 4th grade and just finished reading "Mick Harte Was Here." I thought that the complaint about this book is crazy. There is a little swearing but it is hardly noticeable.
You expect to find some interesting situations in a book about death. It is just a story that encourages kids to wear a helmet in story form. I think it is perfectly fine to put it in an elementary school library and I am glad I read the book.
Most of Barbara Park's books are entertaining; this one is informing about wearing helmets.
