On April 29, the Fargo Public Schools Development Foundation and the Fargo Public School District recognized our 23 Adopt-A-School partners for their exceptional assistance during the school year.
The Adopt-A-School program brings community volunteers into the schools to assist with meaningful educational needs that have been identified as priorities by the school staff. The focus is to creatively make use of available and valuable people resources and to engage these caring folks in school activities that are "win-win" experiences for students, staff and the volunteers.
These local businesses, service clubs, student groups and other community organizations assist with reading and after-school programs, tutoring, mentoring, special school events, community service projects and other school needs. Most of the Adopt-A-School partnerships have been in existence for a number of years.
We commend the following partners for their long-term commitment to excellence in education:
Bank of the West, Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND/Noridian Insurance, Dawson Insurance, City of Fargo, The Forum, Innovis Health, Fargo South Point Kiwanis Club, Magnum Ltd., MeritCare Health System, Microsoft, Midland National Insurance, MSUM School of Teaching and Learning, Naval Reserve Center, NDSU Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, NDSU Planning for College Success, Park Co.
