I was pleased to hear that Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., and the Democrats are up to their old stuff scaring the elderly in the country. I was worried that they had changed their tactics so we would have something new to contend with, but much to my relief they haven't.

I still feel it is totally unprofessional, inhumane and unethical to run around scaring people for no reason. I find the scaring of old people to rate right up there with paying the mob for protection. In other words, if we don't fight the tax cuts they will hurt the old people, just like if we don't pay protection the mob will wreck our business. If this was an outside entity scaring our old people we would call them terrorists, but since it's just certain politicians it's OK. It's time for a change.

Telling working and/or married people that they don't deserve the tax cuts that are proposed is ludicrous. We deserve the tax cuts far more than Dorgan deserves his automatic pay raise every year, yet we hear nothing of that.

Why is it that only tax cuts will cause problems? Nothing is said of the ever increasing spending that is used to buy votes. It's as if spending doesn't count.

I have no problem with differing opinions, after all that is what makes debates interesting, but let's hear the facts, not scare tactics.
