I would like to extend my congratulations to Mark Knutson and the entire Fargo Marathon event staff and volunteers for hosting such a well organized event. The preparation that was done was evident and I thank you.
Thanks to the F-M community for cheering on the runners on a very windy morning. The households that brought out card tables with water-filled Dixie cups assisted us along with the countless volunteers who also handed out cups of water or Gatorade along the route. We couldn't have done it without your efforts in volunteering.
Thanks to those that played their radios, guitars, banged on pots and pans, and sang to us along the way. The music, no matter what the style, was beautiful.
I would also like to thank the two young boys at mile 17 or 18 who stood with a big bowl full of jolly ranchers. That one jolly rancher and the big smiles on their faces helped me through a difficult moment in the race.
Congratulations, Fargo, on a great marathon. See you in 2007.
