Terry Richardson letter: Help for the parade was appreciated

I would like to thank all that helped put together and participated in the Fourth of July parade in downtown Fargo. We had a lot of road blocks we had to jump over, but when it came down to parading down Broadway, the community helped and showed up for it. With this kind of help it makes me proud to be a member of this community.

I would like to give special praise to the Jaycees for jumping in immediately with help providing the insurance, and all the divisions of the Vietnam Veterans of America North Dakota and Operation Holidays for their donations as well a private donations from the community.

Thanks to all the communications media for getting the word out to the public. We had lots of response in such a short time. Thanks also to the AMVETS, VFW and American Legion for all of their support. Hopefully we will be able to do this again next year.
