The Forum's opinion page is always a pleasure to read. There are many views and opinions on a variety of subjects, and these pages offer the public at large the opportunity to put words to feelings and beliefs.
America is a great country. Desiree Morton (letter, Aug. 4) would be hacked to death in more than a dozen of Islam's "love for all" theocracies for her "out of context" quoting of the holy Quran.
I have a question for Syed Sajid Ahmad (Commentary, Aug. 20). What is the context of the thousands of frothing, hate-filled Muslims slaughtering people all over the world, and where is the outrage toward his Muslim brothers and sisters who are perpetrating these hate-driven massacres?
It is very interesting that the verse he quotes states, "Excepting those of the idolaters with whom you have entered into a treaty and who have not subsequently failed you in anything nor aided anyone against you. So fulfill to these the treaty you have made with them till their term. Surely Allah loves those who are righteous." That's great, but so what?
I support what the United States is attempting to accomplish in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, every tax-paying American, according to this verse, is complicit. Get my drift?

The bottom line is this; unless we can eliminate (decimate) these unholy murderers of innocents, the killing will never cease. If the good people of the Muslim world do not actively and intentionally rise up, and with a great single voice, condemn, abhor and despise these fascists, who are a reeking stench in the nostrils of God, (that would be Jehovah) the only option I see is to stop looking for the big fish and drain the aquarium.
Out of context? Who would that be?
