Tom R. Kovach letter: Iraqi weapons inspections a joke

America missed a great opportunity; we should have bombed Iraq when that half-wit Sean Penn was visiting. We could have got two birds with one stone ... or bomb.

America missed a great opportunity; we should have bombed Iraq when that half-wit Sean Penn was visiting. We could have got two birds with one stone ... or bomb.

But seriously, the United Nations inspections are a joke. The inspection team won't find anything. Saddam is too smart to get caught red-handed. He could hide a whole arsenal in those sand dunes.

You know what really puzzles me about this question of to bomb or not to bomb? It's the reaction of the liberals and the Iraqi coddlers. When the perverted liar Bill Clinton bombed Serbia, all the liberals jumped on the band-wagon.

I have a letter here in front of me that the late Sen. Paul Wellstone wrote to me when I questioned his support of the bombing in Yugoslavia. He gave me a whole bunch of reasons why he thought it was right to bomb Serbia. But he was absolutely against attacking Iraq. Why? Yes the Serbs did kill some ethnic Albanians. But what about all the Kurds and others that were murdered by Saddam? He killed tens of thousands of his own people. He invaded Kuwait and blew up oil wells. He and his sick family and henchmen kill and torture every day.

Frankly even if Saddam didn't possess weapons of mass destruction he should still be brought to account for all his murderous deeds. Or does the United Nations and other Iraqi supporters make distinctions about who can or cannot be murdered in this world?
