A 22-year-old man is dead after a crash Monday in Kingston Township. Two juvenile passengers were also involved, one with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

West-central Minnesota man charged after standoff

Two felony charges and 10 other lesser charges have been filed in Meeker County District Court against the Dassel man who barricaded himself in his home Monday and Tuesday after reports that he had threatened a family member. SWAT teams from several agencies responded, and he eventually surrendered. Officers found evidence in the home that they believe indicates the man fired in the direction of law enforcement.

A man had threatened to shoot family members the evening of Aug. 1, then barricaded himself in his home. He finally exited his home at approximately 9:45 p.m. Aug. 2 and was taken into custody.

Man dies after being found unresponsive in west-central Minnesota jail cell

Meeker County Jail staff attempted life-saving measures after finding a 28-year-old man unresponsive in his cell Thursday, the sheriff reported in a news release. The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. There is no evidence of foul play at this time, according to Sheriff Brian Cruze.
