Shelby Satrom and Gregory Sommer, Livermore, Calif., announce their engagement.
Parents are Michael and Nancy Satrom, Galesburg, N.D.; and Curtis and Pamela Sommer, Fargo.
Shelby graduated in 2002 from Hope-Page High School, Hope, N.D., and in 2008 graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She is a registered nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, Palo Alto, Calif.
Gregory graduated in 2000 from Fargo North High School and in 2004 graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He graduated in 2008 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a doctorate in mechanical engineering. He is a research scientist at Sandia National Laboratories, Livermore.
An Aug. 20 wedding is planned at Immanuel Lutheran Church, followed by a reception at the Hilton Garden Inn, both in Fargo.
