Stephanie Schardin and Mathieu Cantou Clarke, Santa Fe, N.M., announce their engagement.
Parents are Deann Sandness, Fargo; Al Schardin, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; Cynthia Cantou Clarke, Santa Fe; and the late Charles Clarke.
Stephanie graduated in 1998 from Fargo South High School and in 2002 graduated from George Washington University, Washington, with a bachelor's degree in economics. She received a master's degree in economics from the University of New Mexico in 2007. She is the deputy director of the New Mexico Board of Finance, Santa Fe.
Matt graduated in 1998 from Sandia Preparatory School, Albuquerque, and in 2002 graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor's degree in political science. He received a law degree from the University of New Mexico in 2007 and is an assistant district attorney in Sante Fe.
An Aug. 29 wedding and reception are planned at the La Fonda Hotel, Santa Fe.
