McKenzie Smith and Matthew Mahal, Sioux Falls, S.D., announce their engagement.
Parents are Brad and Sally Smith, Havana, N.D.; and Tim and Kathy Mahal, Sioux City, Iowa.
McKenzie graduated in 2004 from Sargent Central High School, Forman, N.D., and in 2008 graduated from the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, Sioux Falls campus, with an associate's degree in nursing.
Matthew graduated in 2003 from East High School, Sioux City, and in 2008 graduated from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
Both are registered nurses at Sanford Health, Sioux Falls.

An Oct. 2 wedding is planned at Brandon (S.D.) Lutheran Church, followed by a reception at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel, Brandon.
