Central Cass and Carrington will play for the North Dakota Class B state girls basketball championship tonight at the Bismarck Civic Center. The teams also played each other on Feb. 1 during the regular season in Casselton. The Squirrels earned a 50-39 victory in that game. Below are some highlights from that first matchup:

E Taylor Kraft and Hannah Breske each scored 17 points to lead the Squirrels, who were ranked No. 2 at the time and improved their record to 14-0 overall.

E Sierra Rosenau scored 17 points to lead Carrington, which was ranked No. 3 at the time and had its record drop to 9-2 overall. That loss also snapped a nine-game winning streak.

E The Squirrels ended the first half on a 14-2 run, which proved to be the difference, and helped Central Cass build a 22-12 halftime lead. Carrington was held to two points in the second quarter.

E Carrington cut the Central Cass lead to 36-31 with just under six minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but the Squirrels were able to hold off that rally. "These are the fun games," Taylor Kraft said after the game. "You wish all games were like this."
