Former West Fargo standout Matt Strahm named a South Atlantic League All-Star

WEST FARGO-Former West Fargo High School baseball standout Matt Strahm will represent the Lexington Legends at the South Atlantic League All-Star Game set for Tuesday in Asheville, North Carolina.

WEST FARGO-Former West Fargo High School baseball standout Matt Strahm will represent the Lexington Legends at the South Atlantic League All-Star Game set for Tuesday in Asheville, North Carolina.

Strahm is one of six players for the Legends-the Class Single-A minor league affiliate of the Kansas City Royals-to be named to the Southern Division roster.

Strahm, a 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher, is 2-1 with four saves and a 2.08 earned run average as a reliever this year. He has 38 strikeouts in 26 innings of work this season.

Strahm missed the entire 2013 season due to Tommy John surgery. In 2014, he struck out 27 batters in 19 ⅔ innings for the Royals' Class A rookie affiliate club in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
