FARGO – The North Dakota State at Montana football game Saturday didn’t end without another on-the-field encounter. NDSU released a statement Sunday saying running back Chase Morlock was confronted by a spectator who “grabbed Morlock by the facemask.”

The statement continued saying Montana will investigate the incident.
It happened not long after the final horn with Bison and Grizzly players heading toward the traditional end-game greeting near midfield. There were also celebrating fans in the vicinity.
The video shows a man walking after Morlock, who for five seconds appeared to be walking away from him toward the NDSU sideline. The two engaged and the video appears to show Morlock shoving the fan off him with his right arm.
The NDSU statement said “Morlock did not throw a punch, but did push the individual away to continue exiting the field. Morlock will not face suspension or other punishment from NDSU for this incident.”
NDSU head coach Chris Klieman declined to comment on Sunday.
