That's right, admission won't be cheap for the first regular-season showdown between the longtime rivals in four years. Tickets for the marquee series are currently available through flex-packs only.
Individual tickets for the Gophers-Fighting Hawks series in November are listed at $70-$90 per game. In order to purchase a ticket for one night, you also have to purchase for three other games (not including the second UND-Minnesota game). If you want to get a ticket for a second night, you have to purchase tickets for three more games, too, meaning six extra tickets in all.
The cheapest option to get UND-Minnesota tickets currently will cost fans $150 per night or $300 for the series. The most expensive option will be $200 per night or $400 for the series.
The ticket packages went on sale in mid-July.
No single-game tickets are available at the current time.
The single-game prices of $70-90 are the most expensive on Minnesota's schedule. The second-most pricey tickets are $40-50 for games against St. Cloud State, Michigan, Wisconsin and MSU-Mankato.
Since the teams have moved out of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and into newly formed leagues-the Big Ten for Minnesota and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference for North Dakota-meetings have become rarer.
Their last regular-season meeting was four seasons ago. Their last overall meeting was in the NCAA Frozen Four three seasons ago. They haven't met in the last two, breaking a 60-plus year run of annual games.
Starting this season, the rivals will meet for seven consecutive years. Come the end of that stretch, the teams will have played just three series in each team's building in the span of a decade.
They will play in Mariucci Arena in November, in 2019-20 and in 2021-22. They will play in Ralph Engelstad Arena in 2017-18, 2020-21 and 2022-23. In 2018-19, they'll play a single game in Las Vegas.
