LANGDON, N.D.-LaMoure posted a 6-5 win over Hillsboro-Central Valley Wednesday in the opening round of the North Dakota Class B American Legion baseball tournament.
Shay Ness went 2-for-4 with one RBI for LaMoure while Jacob Ulmer went 2-for-4. Ulmer pitched the first 2⅔ innings before Ness pitched the final 4⅓ innings, allowing only two hits.
Gavin Wright went 2-for-3 with one RBI for Hillsboro-Central Valley while Patrick Limke had three RBI.
Thompson 12, Renville County 2
Thompson scored seven runs in the fourth inning to claim its 12-2 win over Renville County Wednesday and ended the game in the fifth inning with three more runs.
Jacob Dick went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Thompson. Cadyn Schwabe and Tyler Hegg each had two RBI for Thompson.
Schwabe pitched all five innings giving up four hits and two runs.
Carrington 3, Kidder County 2
Payton Smith went 2-for-2 with one RBI to lift Carrington to its 3-2 win over Kidder County.
Lucas Giezler, Drew Page and Gunner Buskness each had one hit for Carrington.
Page pitched for 5⅔ innings, giving up only one hit. Giezler pitched the final 1⅓ innings.
Velva 7, Langdon 2
Aaron Dean went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored to lead Velva in its 7-2 win over Langdon on Wednesday.
Nicholas Effertz and Joe Thomas each added an RBI for Velva. Aaron Dean gave up three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts through six shutout innings to earn the win.
Conner Tetrault and Grant Romfo each drove in a run for Langdon.
