LANGDON, N.D.-Clay Odenbach homered and had three RBIs to help lift Thompson to a 9-3 win over Carrington on Thursday in the North Dakota Class B American Legion baseball state tournament.
Tyler Hegg went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and two runs for Thompson, while Trey Larimer added a run and an RBI.
Kyle Leapaldt went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs to lead Carrington. Trey Rosenau added a solo home run.
Thompson advances to face Velva at 7 p.m. Friday, while Carrington will play Langdon at 1 p.m. Friday.
Velva 11, LaMoure 2
Aaron Dean, Nicholas Effertz and Hayden Lee each drove in two runs to lead Velva to an 11-2 win over LaMoure.
Colton Frankl went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Velva.
Jace Hanson went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead LaMoure, while Shay Ness and Jacob Ulmer each added a hit and a run.
Velva advances to play Thompson at 7 p.m. Friday, while LaMoure will face Renville County at 4 p.m. Friday.
Langdon 3, Hillsboro-Central Valley 0
Langdon topped Hillsboro-Central Valley 3-0 Thursday in an elimination game.
Jacob Delvo gave up just two hits with four walks and nine strikeouts through 6 1/3 shutout innings to lead Langdon.
Simon Romfo, Hayes Haslekaas and Xavier Mitchell each drove in a run for the Red Sox.
Langdon advances to face Carrington at 1 p.m. Friday.
Renville County 7, Kidder County 4
Renville County scored three runs in the sixth inning in the team's 7-4 win over Kidder County on Thursday in an elimination game.
Henry Savelkoul and Talon Thompson each had a double and drove in two runs to lead Renville County.
Ethan Hager went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead Kidder County.
Renville County advances to face LaMoure at 4 p.m. Friday.
