LANGDON, N.D.-Clay Odenbach and Jacob Dick combined to throw a no-hitter as Thompson defeated Velva 11-0 Friday in the North Dakota Class B American Legion baseball state tournament.
Tyler Hegg went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs to lead Thompson. Cadyn Schwabe added a homer and two RBIs, while Braeden Amborn went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Thompson advances to a 5 p.m. Saturday semifinal game against LaMoure. Velva will face Carrington in a 2 p.m. Saturday semifinal game.
Carrington 10, Langdon 8
Kyle Leapaldt belted a home run and had three RBIs to help lift Carrington to a 10-8 win over Langdon.
Seth Nelson also homered for Carrington and drove in two runs, while Payton Smith added two hits, two runs and an RBI.
Conner Tetrault went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead Langdon. Simon Romfo went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Carrington advances to a 2 p.m. Saturday semifinal game against Velva.
LaMoure 12, Renville County 2 (5 innings)
LaMoure scored three runs in each inning but the second in Post 19's 12-2 victory over Renville County.
Mac Bierman went 3-for-4 with with three runs scored and two RBIs to lead LaMoure. Jace Hanson added a pair of hits with a run scored and three RBIs, while Noah Pederson drove in a run.
Zane Wenstad and Brock Depute each drove in a run for Renville County, while Talon Thompson added two hits.
LaMoure advances to a 5 p.m. Saturday semifinal game against Thompson.
