Wentz has been rehabbing for the last nine months since tearing his ACL and LCL in his left knee December 10th against the Los Angeles Rams.

Wentz's original goal was to be ready for the season opener September 6th against Atlanta, but had not been cleared for contact.

Wentz was having a MVP season for the Eagles last year, throwing a team record 33 touchdown passes before the injury.

Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles has started the first two games of the season for the Eagles. Foles led Philly to a season opening win against Atlanta, before losing to Tampa Bay on the road yesterday.
