OMAHA, Neb. — The North Dakota State men's and women's team each clinched runner-up finishes Saturday at the Summit League cross country championships at Miracle Hill Golf Course.
South Dakota edged the Bison by only one point to claim the women's title with a score of 51 points, while NDSU finished with 52. It was the the team's fourth runner-up finish in the past five years.
Kelby Anderson finished second with a personal-best time of 20 minutes, 41.46 seconds to lead NDSU. Anderson's run was the fifth-fastest 6k in NDSU history. Annika Rotvold placed fifth at 21:24.3.
On the men's side, South Dakota State defended its team title with a winning score of 23 points. NDSU placed second with 60. Elliot Stone paced the Bison with his fourth-place mark of 25:22.64 for the 8k course. Camron Roehl finished 11th at 26:00.13.
