MOORHEAD -- When Thanksgiving has rolled around the MSU Moorhead campus the last two decades, the football pads and jerseys have been put in storage.

The helmets and pads are in full use this week at Scheels Field as the Dragons are on the field, preparing for their first postseason appearance since 1994. MSUM will face Missouri S&T in the Mineral Water Bowl on December 1st.

The Dragons earned that postseason appearance thanks to a thrilling last second 13-10 win over St Cloud State on November 10th.

"We started our preparation yesterday so today's our second practice for Missouri S&T and hopefully we can fine-tune that and get eveything taken care of, everything we need to put in there and get covered and when you have two weeks to prepare for a team hopefully you've done a good job with the gameplan. " head coach Steve Laqua said.

Laqua has a major issue to deal with before kickoff. Deciding who's going to be the starting quarterback. Junior Bryce Meehl, who started the regular season finale against SCSU is battling a shoulder injury, while sophomore quarterback Jakup Sinani has been out the last five weeks with a collarbone injury. Third string quarterback Trent Ricker has been getting reps at quarterback.

MSU Moorhead will practice Wednesday, November 21st before taking the holiday off and returning to Moorhead on Sunday.
