MSUM wrestler Blees earns spot in Midwest Classic semifinals

INDIANAPOLIS — Minnesota State Moorhead wrestler Adam Blees won three matches Saturday at the Midwest Classic, advancing to Sunday's semifinals of the 174-pound class.

Blees stormed through his opening round with decisions over Gannon's Ilyaz Veysalov and Central Oklahoma's Miguel Barreras. He sealed his trip to the semifinals with a pin of Gavin Wilkerson from Mercyhurst.

Cole Jones, Mason Schulz and Evan Foster all won two bouts during the tournament for the Dragons.

Blees will take on Findlay's Nathan Vandermeer for a shot at the championship.
