DEVILS LAKE, N.D. - Chad Maloy and Don Denning of Fargo placed fifth at last week's Masters Walleye Circuit fishing tournament on Devils Lake - including catching the biggest fish.
Maloy and Denning placed fifth with a total weight of 29 pounds, 3 ounces - more than 16 pounds less than the championship team of Travor Diegel and Paul Steffen of Pierre, S.D.
Maloy and Denning landed a nine-pound walleye, worth $714 from the big fish pot.
Diegel and Steffen caught a total weight of 45 pounds, 10 ounces - 11 pounds more than second-place finishers Allan Freidig and Clinton Devier of Devils Lake. The win earned Diegel and Steffen $11,100. Freidig and Devier won $5,700.
Troy Morris of Fargo team up with Kevin Breuer of Robbinsdale, Minn., to finish third with a weight total of 33 pounds 14 ounces
