FARGO - Fargo North scored 23 runs in an Eastern Dakota Conference baseball doubleheader Thursday, defeating Valley City 8-1 and 15-0.
Nate Walsh had two hits for the Spartans (2-4, 1-0 EDC) in the first game, while Cameron Giffey struck out eight and allowed one unearned run in six innings.
In the second game, Alex Johnson held the Hi-Liners (0-2, 0-1 EDC) to two hits in a five-inning shutout. Johnson struck out six.
The Spartans' scheduled doubleheader today against Fargo Davies has been postponed.
