FARGO — Purdue-Fort Wayne overcame a three-run deficit by scoring four runs in the final three innings to defeat North Dakota State 6-5 in Summit League baseball Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.

Bennett Hostetler blasted his fourth home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning for NDSU. Hostetler finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a run to lead the way. Brock Anderson hit a solo homer, his first of the year. Jake Malec added a pair of hits, a run and an RBI.

The Mastodons (6-40, 1-24 SL) scored two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to make it 6-5 and clinch their first league victory this season. The win also snapped a 19-game losing streak. Jacob Dickson and Trenton Stoner each had two RBIs for the game.

The teams face off again at 7 p.m. Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.
