FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks downed Winnipeg 6-2 to earn their first win of the preseason in an American Association baseball exhibition Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.
The RedHawks erupted for five runs in the sixth inning prior to the game being called midway through the seventh due to rain.
Four of F-M's sixth-inning runs were scored on wild pitches and the other came by a Tim Colwell RBI single. The sequence included three straight wild pitches. Brennan Metzger went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk.
The RedHawks travel to Sioux Falls, S.D., and Lincoln, Neb., on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, to close out the preseason.
