MILWAUKEE — Fargo-Moorhead pitcher Geoff Broussard pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning, securing a 3-1 win for the RedHawks over the Milwaukee Milkmen in American Association baseball Friday night at Routine Field before 2,367 fans.
Ryan Williams (8-1) lasted eight solid innings on the mound for F-M, allowing no runs and six hits with six strikeouts. Milwaukee scored one in the final inning before Broussard recorded the save.
The RedHawks tallied 15 hits and scored runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings. Chris Jacobs went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, including his 16th double this season, while Devan Ahart and Leo Pina added three hits.
The RedHawks (60-31) win the series 2-1 over Milwaukee (35-56). F-M starts a three-game series vs. Winnipeg (49-41) at 6 p.m. Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field.
