FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks took down the St. Paul Saints 4-2 Wednesday night in American Association baseball at Newman Outdoor Field before 1,194 fans.
After St. Paul took an early 2-0 lead, Alex Boxwell belted his first home run this season to spark a fifth-inning rally for F-M. Trey Hair and Dario Pizzano each hit an RBI double later in the inning to put the RedHawks up 4-2.
Hair and Leobaldo Pina each had two hits to lead the RedHawks, who were outhit 13-7 by St. Paul.
John Anderson (1-1) notched the win for F-M. He surrendered two runs on nine hits with two walks and five strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings.
The RedHawks (9-15) will conclude their series with the Saints (10-13) at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
On Tuesday night, Correlle Prime hit his first home run of the year in the seventh inning and Hair doubled home two runs in the eighth inning to guide the RedHawks to a 7-5 win over St. Paul on Tuesday night.
Ryan Williams (2-1, 3.41 ERA) earned the win for the RedHawks after coming on to pitch six innings of four-hit ball on Tuesday.
The RedHawks scored twice in the fifth inning on singles from Hair, Prime and Pizzano to tie the game 3-3 before each team traded a run in the sixth inning to make it 4-4 heading to the bottom of the seventh.
