MOORHEAD — Concordia made a difficult turnaround, bouncing back from a 24-4 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against Bethel to claim a 12-5 victory in game two on Saturday.
In the second game, the teams battled closely all game, but the Cobbers scored six runs in the top of the ninth to put the game away. Thomas Horan had a homer among his two hits and drove in five runs, and Andy Gravdahl also hit a solo homer.
Matt Gruber had four hits, including two doubles, and drove in a pair, and Toby Sayles had two hits and two RBI. Max Boran had two hits and two RBI, Ben Swanson had two hits, including a double. Ashwin Stratton went six innings and got the win and Gruber threw the final three.
Gravdahl provided one of the few Cobbers highlights in game one, homering and drove in three of the team's four runs.
The Cobbers and Bethel take Sunday off and play again at 4 p.m. Monday, May 3, in St. Paul.
