GRAND FORKS — Fargo North held off Grand Forks Central 6-5 in an Eastern Dakota Conference baseball matchup Monday night.

Trailing 1-0, the Spartans plated three runs in the fourth and sixth innings to take a 6-1 lead. The Knights tried to rally with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the sixth inning, but ultimately fell short.

Daniel Boutain cracked two doubles and added three RBIs to lead North. Conner Holm, Will Bachman and Ryan Manly all added two hits for the Spartans. Kaden Kvidera got the win on the mound, striking out seven batters.

Chance Colgrove paced Central with a hit and two RBIs.

North improved to 5-8 and 2-3 in the EDC overall, while Central dropped to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the EDC.
