Moorhead 2, Fargo North 1

MOORHEAD — A two-run first inning and Zach Taft on the mound were all Moorhead needed in a win over Fargo North on Tuesday.

Taft went the distance, allowing an unearned run on four hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out three.

The Spuds scored twice in the first on Justin Stalboerger’s single and a North error on a Will Kunka bunt, and courtesy runner Adam Werth’s steal of home. Chase Hanson singled in North’s run in the third.

Three Spartan pitchers — Charlie Kalbrener, Aaron Breitbach and Mason Ahern — combined to allow the two unearned runs on three hits and a walk and they struck out seven.

North fell to 5-9 overall while Moorhead improved to 4-6 overall.

Grand Forks Central 16, Fargo South 6

FARGO — Dillon Kuntz had two hits and drove in four runs to lead Grand Forks Central to an Eastern Dakota Conference win over South.

Central’s Sam Strandell and Mason Lima both had three hits. South’s Tanner Kirkeby and Kolby Nissen both had two hits and two RBI, and Ben Montplaisir and Braydon Dettling both had two hits, with Dettling also driving in the other Bruins run.

Central is 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the EDC. South is 4-8 overall and 2-4 in the EDC.

West Fargo Sheyenne 8, 8, West Fargo 2, 8

WEST FARGO — Sheyenne took Game 1 from rival West Fargo in an EDC doubleheader and Game 2 ended in a tie in eight innings.

The first game counted toward the EDC, while Game 2 was scored nonconference.

In Game 1, Sheyenne’s Quade Peters homered and drove in two and Evan Berg doubled and had two RBIs. West Fargo’s Carter Birrenkott and Brayden Jacobson both doubled.

Jacobson had a team-high three hits for West Fargo in Game 2, also scoring two runs. Tanner Larson drove in two runs for the Packers.

Alex Berg paced Sheyenne in the second game, finishing with three hits and two RBIs. Alex Urlaub drove in two runs, and Peters totaled two hits, two runs and an RBI.

Sheyenne moved to 12.5-2.5 overall and 5-0 in the EDC. West Fargo is now 9.5-9.5 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

Breckenridge 12, 7 Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 1, 10

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. — Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton rallied in Game 2 to pick up a doubleheader split with Breckenridge Tuesday.

In Game 1, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton managed just two hits off Breckenridge pitching. Jordan Summers doubled and drove in the only Rebels run and McKale Pierson also doubled.

Trailing 7-5 after five innings in Game 2, the Rebels plated five runs to take the lead for good. Brandon Watt cracked a two-run homer run, part of that five-run sixth inning. Kayden Camacho recorded 10 strikeouts on the mound for D-G-F

D-G-F improved to 3-4 overall. Breckenridge dropped to 8-3 overall.

Fargo Oak Grove 17, Hankinson 0

FAIRMOUNT, N.D. — Oak Grove cruised by Hankinson-Fairmount-Rosholt-Campbell-TL in Class B action.

The Grovers rose to 2-7 overall.
