FARGO — North Dakota State notched victories of 8-7 and 2-0 over Omaha on Friday in a Summit League baseball doubleheader at Newman Outdoor Field.

Trailing 7-4, NDSU plated four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to clinch the Game 1 win. Bennet Hostetler hit a two-run single to start the comeback. Tucker Rohde then singled home Peter Brookshaw, and Charley Hesse drove home Hostetler on a sacrifice fly to put NDSU ahead. Hostetler, Jake Malec, Jack Simonsen and Calen Schwabe each had two hits for the Bison.

In the seven-inning Game 2, Bison pitcher Max Loven (2-0) went the distance, giving up four hits with five walks and three strikeouts for the shutout win. Hostetler led NDSU with three hits and Rohde drove in a run.

The Bison (31-13, 16-9 Summit) and Omaha (18-18, 10-7) are scheduled to play Game 3 of the four-game series at 2 p.m. Saturday at Newman.
