MOORHEAD — Concordia dropped to .500 overall with two MIAC losses to St. Thomas on Saturday.

The Tommies took the first game 6-1 and defeated the Cobbers 9-3 in Game 2.

In the opener, St. Thomas' Duke Coburn limited Concordia to three hits and struck out three in the seven-inning game. The Cobbers scored their run in the first on Sean McGuire's RBI single.

In the second game, the teams were tied 3-3 after eight innings but St. Thomas scored six in the top of the ninth. Concordia's Max Boran had a hit and drove in two runs, McGuire had an RBI and Matt Gruber doubled and scored a run.

The Cobbers (9-11 MIAC, 15-15 overall) and Tommies play a single, nine-inning game at 1 p.m. Sunday, and Concordia closes out the regular season against North Dakota State at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Newman Outdoor Field.
