RICHMOND, Ky. — The North Dakota State baseball team cruised to a 6-1 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday in nonconference play to close the regular season.
NDSU finished the regular season with a 38-16 overall mark, the second-most wins in school history. The Bison will be the second seed in the Summit League tournament, where they will face tournament host No. 3 seed Omaha in the first round at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Zach Solano led NDSU with two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Peter Brookshaw and Nick Emanuel also drove in a run each.
Cade Feeney earned the win on the mound, improving his season record to 6-1. Feeney fanned three and surrendered one run on four hits over 4 2/3 innings. Tristen Roehrich struck out six in 3 1/3 innings, allowing just one hit.
