FARGO — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawk's homestand opener against the Milwaukee Milkmen was suspended after the sixth inning and later called final on Monday when a strong thunderstorm moved into the Fargo-Moorhead area.

The Milkmen downed the RedHawks 4-1 in the six-inning game.

Milwaukee scored all four runs in the top of the first. Brett Vertigan and Logan Trowbridge both singled to lead off the game and Vertigan scored on David Washington's single. Christian Correa followed with a three-run homer off RedHawks starter Logan Nissen.

Nissen settled in after the first and went 4-2/3 innings, allowing the four runs on six hits. He walked two and struck out three. Reliever Alex DuBord worked 1-1/3 innings before the game was halted.

The RedHawks scored their run in the bottom of the first when Manuel Boscan singled, stole second and scored when Correlle Prime singled and the Milkmen committed an error on the play.
