GRAND FORKS — Fargo Post 2 cracked 25 hits as a team on its way to wins of 8-2 and 6-0 over Grand Forks in American Legion baseball on Thursday night.
Fifteen of those hits came in Game 1, with Caden Headlee, Dylan Erholtz and Danny Boutain all recording three hits. Headlee included two doubles, while seven different players registered an RBI. Erholtz got the win on the mound, allowing just two runs off two hits in seven innings. Trailing 2-0 after the first inning, Post 2 totaled eight unanswered runs to run away with the win.
Kaden Kvidera's had a masterful performance on the mound in the second game for Post 2. He allowed just two hits, earning the complete-game shutout.
The offense was quiet heading into the final inning as Post 2 led 1-0. Fargo then broke away with five runs in the top of the seventh. Headlee continued his strong play with a three-run triple. Dylan Tostenson added two hits and two RBIs.
Post 2 (3-0) hosts the Moorhead Blues at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 15.
