WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Patriots lost two games to Wayzata Post 118 on Saturday in two decidedly different ways. The constant was tough Wayzata pitching.
Post 118 won the opener 11-1 before battling past the Patriots 1-0 in Game 2.
In the second game, Post 118 starter Josh Gullickson one-hit the Patriots. He didn't allow a walk and struck out nine. Anthony Villanueva had the Patriots' lone hit.
In Game 1, Wayzata starter Sam Schlecht controlled the Patriots' lineup while Post 118 hitters roughed up his counterparts. Schlecht worked 6-2/3 innings, allowing a run on five hits and three walks while striking out eight. Post 118 hitters collected 14 hits and drew five walks off four West Fargo hurlers.
Patriots' Quade Peters, Brayden Jacobson, Lance Oster, Alex Urlaub and Caleb Jamieson had hits, with Oster driving in Peters with their lone run in the third inning.
