FARGO — Fargo-Moorhead continued to punish Winnipeg pitching, collecting 15 hits and defeating the Goldeyes 12-5 on Saturday before 3,441 at Newman Outdoor Field.

On Friday, the RedHawks pounded 24 hits off Goldeye arms in a 16-6 victory. They knocked out Winnipeg starter Eduard Reyes after five innings, putting up six runs on eight hits. Then the RedHawks really roughed up reliever Austin Henrich, scoring four runs on four hits before he could record three outs, running the score to 11-0 through six innings.

Like his teammate Ryan Flores on Friday, Austin Ver Steeg moved from bullpen to starter and pitched a solid seven innings for the win. He allowed a run on three hits, walked just one and struck out six.

Dylan Kelly hit two home runs and finished with three RBI and Leo Pina was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI. John Silviano hit a solo home run, his 13th of the season, and Jordan George doubled and drove in a run. Alex Boxwell also doubled and had three RBI. Correlle Prime was 3-for-4 and scored twice from the leadoff spot, Kevin Krause had two hits and Sam Dexter had two hits and drove in a run.

The RedHawks and Goldeyes play Game 3 of a four-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at Newman.
