FARGO — Winnipeg ran out to a big lead and got a good start from Pete Perez to down Fargo-Moorhead 10-5 on Sunday before 2,054 at Newman Outdoor Field.
In the first two nights of the four-game series, Winnipeg saw the RedHawks total 28 runs and 39 hits. On Sunday, the Goldeyes led 8-0 before the RedHawks could get on the board, sending F-M starter Gage Hinsz to the bench with one out in the sixth.
Perez allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four in 5-2/3 innings to get the win. The Goldeyes' Kyle Martin, Logan Hill and Wes Darvill all homered and had two RBI, and Tyler Hill had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three runs.
The RedHawks' Manny Boscan was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI and John Silviano and Dylan Kelly both were 2-for-4. Kevin Krause doubled and drove in two runs and Correlle Prime and Leo Pina both had singles and RBI.
The Goldeyes and RedHawks are the only teams on the American Association's Monday schedule, playing the fourth and final game of their weekend set at 7:02 p.m. at Newman.
