GENEVA, Ill. — Fargo-Moorhead took no chances with its comeback on Thursday, scoring five runs in the final two innings to overcome a one-run deficit and defeat Kane County 8-5 before 7,773 at Northwestern Medicine Stadium.

Nick Novak's three-run home run in the ninth was the deciding blow. Novak also hit an RBI double in the eighth and came around to score the second run of the inning on Jordan George's double.

The RedHawks trailed 4-3 after five and their bullpen held the Cougars down. Davis Feldman worked two perfect innings. The Cougars got a run back in the eighth off Luke Lind but Alex DuBord pitched 1-1/3 innings of one-hit ball to get the win.

John Silviano hit a two-run homer in the fourth, his 14th of the year, and Dylan Kelly had two hits and scored twice. Alex Boxwell singled in a run in the second inning.

The RedHawks won two of three from the Cougars and play Gary SouthShore at 7:10 p.m. Friday, July 23, in the first of three weekend games at U.S. Steel Yard.
