This summer for Sam Griesel will be like many other college students, taking a trip to Europe to take in the sights and observe a new culture.
The biggest difference for Griesel is he's taking a basketball with him. The North Dakota State sophomore will be heading to Germany on June 10th as he's been invited to try out for the German Under 20 basketball team.
Griesel, who averaged six points for the Summit League Tournament champion Bison as a freshman, has dual citizenship in the United States and Germany. Griesel's dad, Achim is from Germany. Sam says he has traveled to Germany "four to five times" in his life.
Griesel becomes the second Bison basketball player to spend the summer overseas, former forward Deng Geu did as well last year, playing for the Ugandan National Team.
