BISMARCK — The Class A girls basketball team rolled to a 91-45 victory over Class B in the opening game of the North Dakota Lions All-Star game series opener at Bismarck Legacy High School.
The 46-point margin of victory is the largest ever. Alyssa Paper, a Fargo Davies graduate, led Class A with 13 points. Lilly Keplin of Bismarck Century poured in 12 points, while West Fargo Sheyenne graduate Maggie Manson and Century's Mya Klein each scored 11.
Madison Leaf of Warwick paced Class B with a game-high 14 points. Fargo Oak Grove graduate Amanda Roller had five points.
Game 2 of the girls series will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at West Fargo High School.
The Class B boys downed Class A 84-72. Hayden Overby of Thompson paced Class B with 18 points. Ben Bohl of Minot Ryan chipped in 14 and Thompson's Cadyn Schwabe had 13.
Treyton Matter of Bismarck Century led Class A with a game-high 21 points. Bismarck High's Joe Jahner had 16 points and Fargo Davies graduate Braeton Motschenbacher tallied seven.
Game 2 of the boys series is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday night at West Fargo High School.
