BISMARCK - Bismarck Century two-sport standout Lauren Ware tore the ACL in her left knee at a volleyball tournament in Sioux Falls this past weekend, likely sidelining her for her senior year with the Patriots.

Ware is the two-time reigning Gatorade player of the year in North Dakota in both volleyball and basketball. She's helped the Patriots to three consecutive state volleyball championships and back to back basketball titles. The 6'5 Ware has turned into a dominant force in North Dakota basketball, averaging 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 assists this past season as the Patriots posted a 27-0 record. They take a 33 game win streak into this season.

The injury is just to Ware's ACL and no other ligaments in her knee. It's not known how long the injury will keep Ware sidelined, but a typical ACL injury takes eight to nine months to recover.
