SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Augustana needed an extra five minutes and a late run to pick up a 63-60 overtime win over Minnesota State Moorhead in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball Saturday afternoon at Sanford Pentagon.
MSUM led 32-24 at halftime before Augustana began chipping away. Hannah Mitby's layup with 24 seconds remaining in regulation pulled the Vikings even with MSUM and sent the game into overtime. After Peyton Boom's free throw gave the Dragons a 3-point lead in overtime, Augustana would build an 8-0 run, sealing the win.
Megan Hintz led MSUM with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Brooklyn Liegel added 12 points. Madi Green came just shy of a double-double, recording nine points and nine rebounds. The road team shot just 19-for-62 (30.6%) from the floor and committed 21 turnovers.
Augustana (10-6, 6-6 NSIC) was led by Mitby's 18 points and seven rebounds. Abby Hora chipped in 13 points and six rebounds.
MSUM (13-6, 8-4) hosts the University of Minnesota-Duluth at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.
