MOORHEAD -- Ryan Bruggeman has been a record-setting player since high school.

At Pelican Rapids, he broke the points record, and did the same at Southwest Minnesota State this season.

The senior is putting the finishing touches on his career, and on Friday got the chance to play one last time in front of most of his relatives against MSUM.

"It means a lot coming up here," Ryan said. "I always enjoy it."

His parents have barely missed a game of his during his time in Marshall. Still, they relished in him coming back home one more time.

"It is kind of a special family reunion for us," said Ryan's father, Doug.

Returning to play MSUM gave the family reminders that Ryan could have played in Moorhead. However, no one regrets his choice to travel to SMSU.

"You make choices and you move forward," his mom, Sue, said. "Have a good time and you just don't change anything."

"I would pick SMSU again," Ryan proclaimed. "Not even with all the individual success. Just the person I believe I am going to be leaving there and the friendships I've made, made it better."
