VERMILLION, S.D. — The University of South Dakota used a big second half to top North Dakota State 75-65 in Summit League men's basketball Thursday.

Tyson Ward scored a game-high 28 points to go with six rebounds for the Bison. Vinnie Shahid added 10 points and five assists.

Triston Simpson paced the Coyotes (12-16, 6-9) with 20 points. Tyler Peterson chipped in 15 points and Stanley Umude added 13. USD outscored NDSU 46-32 in the second half after the Bison took a four-point lead into halftime.

NDSU (14-15, 8-7) wraps up the regular season at 4 p.m. Saturday at Purdue Fort Wayne.
