SPARTANBURG, S.C. - North Dakota State was voted No. 1 in the final Division I Football Championship Subdivision coaches poll that was released today.
The Bison (14-1) earned all 25 first-place votes after beating previous No. 1 Sam Houston State 17-6 in Saturday FCS championship game. Sam Houston (14-1) was No. 2 in the final poll.
NDSU was ranked No. 4 in the poll the end the regular season.
Georgia Southern (11-3) finished No. 3, Lehigh (11-2) was No. 6 and James Madison (8-5) ended No. 14 in the final poll. The Bison beat those three teams en route to the title game.
