Bison finish strong to defeat Purdue Fort Wayne in women's hoops

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — North Dakota State continued its run of solid play with a 58-44 road win over Purdue Fort Wayne in Summit League women's basketball Thursday night at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

The Bison led 37-35 before finishing the last 10 minutes on a 21-9 run, sealing their third win in the last four games.

Rylee Nudell's 14 point, 10 rebound double-double led NDSU. Nudell shot 5 of 9 from the floor. Ryan Cobbins and Emily Dietz each contributed 10 points, while Michelle Gaislerova finished with nine off the bench. NDSU shot 21-for-55 (38.2%) from the field.

Purdue Fort Wayne (5-16, 1-7 Summit) was led by Riley Ott's 13 points, while Sh'Toya Sanders chipped in nine points and eight rebounds. The Mastodons struggled late, shooting just 3-for-11 (27%) in the final 10 minutes, including 0 of 5 from beyond the arc.

NDSU (6-14, 3-5) heads to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
